Electronic and Hydraulic Steering Service
Power steering is essential for responsive steering to work properly and vital for on the road safety.
Most modern vehicles are fitted with a power assisted steering system. The most common type of power steering is hydraulic, utilising a pump and steering rack or box. These are worked hard with slow speed steering (car parks, reverse turning etc.) and consequently degrade the hydraulic fluid. When this occurs the power steering fluid will break down, often turning a dark red or black. This build-up of carbon contaminants harms the seals and moving parts of your system. Over time it will cause premature wear of the vital parts. You may encounter steering problems such as road wandering, no recovery or over-steering problems. Steering concerns can have several causes such as loose steering linkage, worn bearings or unequal tyre pressure just to name a few
